I’ve always said that Germans are hilarious. Even the word “German” will elicit giggles after you say it 263 times like I did just now.
Their comedic genius is that they’re not trying to be funny (sometimes they’re really not trying), they just ARE!
Exhibit A:
A bunch of Germans that, spoiler, have had a bit to drink are goaded by some impish American into trying to pronounce the word “squirrel.” Now in their defense, it’s an idiotic word and whoever coined it should also be thoroughly mocked, but I’ll leave that to someone else.
Let’s just enjoy this montage of tongue flailing while not taking into account all the German words we can’t pronounce while stone sober.
This reminds me of Danish people trying to get native English speakers to say “rødgrød med fløde” … look it up! Haha!
Impossible.
Clearly, aliens be here. Settling somewhere in Denmark.
To be fair, I studied German for years and can still just barely spit out “Eichhörnchen” on a good day. (German for “squirrel,” natch.) http://youtu.be/1GivxggcAho
