I don’t care how much you just bench pressed. Shepherd Yusuf Alchagirov, from the southern Russian region of Kabardino-Balkaria, is tougher than you are or will ever be.

When Alchagirov was attacked by a brown bear – whether it was hungry or was just playing with Alchagirov is uncertain – the shepherd defended himself with several kicks and headbutts before the bear became irritated and tossed him off a cliff.

If any one of the above things had happened to me, even if it was just headbutting a puppy, I’d be dead. Or at least crying.

Alchagirov spent a few days in the hospital with bruises, bite wounds and four broken ribs.

He then checked himself out against doctor’s orders, left the hospital, buck naked in a freezing blizzard, to go find another bear to fight.

I made that last part up. But gat-dam.
