Welp, my diabolical plan to go around Seattle robbing people has suffered a slight hiccup. Turns out Seattlites won’t hesitate to beat the living crap out of criminals, even when they’re brandishing firearms.
This surveillance video shows how one man got ANGRY when a robber waved a gun in his face while working his way through a Metro bus, reliving people of their cell phones. The unidentified man, who will henceforth be known as Man of Balls of Steel, grabbed the gun and started punching the robber’s lights out. Two other men eventually joined him as the rest of the passengers evacuated the bus.
The 19-year-old suspect was charged with first-degree robbery and attempted armed robbery and may go to jail for up to 15 years.
Meanwhile, Man of Balls of Steel is out there somewhere, with his Clark Kent glasses, leaping over tall buildings in a single bound, watching over the city and protecting the good citizens of Seattle from evildoers.

So the terrifying thing about this besides, you know, armed robbery attempt on a bus, is that it’s MY bus line in MY neighborhood and the sh!t hit the fan right down THERE at my bus stop. When this first happened, I had one of those “I could have been on that bus” moments and it was not a good one.
I am VERY GLAD no one was harmed and also, very glad that no, actually, you, thuggish criminal, are not messing with my commute.
Sidebar: What happens to you that you’re all, “I think I’ll rob people on a crowded bus! That’s a great idea!” Apparently, he was just a kid. Once I got over my initial outrage, I though, man, that guy REALLY needs some better decision making skills. I think there’s a clip of his mom doing the face/palm from the local news somewhere. Really.
Pam – I frequently ride on what’s legendarily the worst bus line in Minneapolis, but apart from loud drunks and crazy people I haven’t witnessed anything serious first hand. I was going to say maybe that’s because I usually ride during the day and people are a bit better behaved, but it looks like this incident happened in broad daylight, so I guess that’s not always a factor.
