Those who have dreamt of sleeping inside a giant anus should click this

I’ve written about 328,474 sleeping reviews in my years as a travel writer, but I must admit that I’m a bit stumped as to how I’d kick off a review about sleeping in a giant poop chute-shaped guesthouse. Probably some kind of reassurance about odor.

The squeamish, vein-y triumph that is CasAnus, located on the grounds of the Verbeke Foundation Art Park between Antwerp and Ghent, Belgium, is available to rent for roughly $120 per night. Watching the short video shot by my pal Tom Hall, of Lonely Planet fame, it appears one doesn’t get a hell of a lot in terms of comfort and amenities in CasAnus, but if it’s party stories you’re looking for, a night here is hard to beat.

The monstrous anus and colon was originally created by artist Joep Van Lieshout. It’s unclear when/why inspiration stuck to turn it into living quarters. To me, it totally screams “gift shop.”
