Pretty much how I’ve always lived my life! It’s nice to see it put in such friendly terms (I’m living like a European!) rather than what my extended family likes to say (why won’t she apply herself?).

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone! I don’t feel like I’m saying anything new here, but I think the changes I’m suggesting need to be repeated a thousand times before people really take them to heart. Or stated in reader-friendly list form. :)

Ha! Love it! We Americans really do need to learn to slow down, simplify and enjoy life.

I’m doing pretty good by your standards. Having a tiny room in an old Victorian in a bad neighborhood is cheap! Plus, having no closet and a skinny bookshelf definitely keeps me from wasting money on stuff I don’t have the space for anyway. I’m currently working on working less–need to get over my morbid (haha) fear of not having health insurance. (Who needs thyroid medication anyway? Oh wait, me.)

I heart this post. I’ve started seeing exactly what you’re talking about, and I’m glad you’re spreading the word. When I was in Italy, I realized that the Italians have a lot of things right and we all should take things a little slower and enjoy all the great things around us. A peaceful life isn’t something you can buy, you know?

Craig – I went a little widget-happy earlier this week. Trying to harness this so-called ‘social media’ thing I keep hearing about. But I’m only seeing the twitter and facebook widgets in Google Reader. There should be a ShareThis and StumbleUpon widget too. I’ve screwed this up, somehow.
