Of all the ‘How I Became a Writer’ micromemoirs, this was by far the most pragmatic, and therefore useful-cum-inspiring read thus far. Everyday I wake up, I worry about and loathe the day when am I going to be stuck in Mexico, working behind the bar and under the table at a tourist restaurant just to keep traveling. So I am following your route and trying my hand at being prolific and consistent. As you clearly know, to keep pushing it out until hopefully that lucky break comes along.

You see, without the corporate gig, you’d never have had the money to survive long enough to break into travel writing. My version is writing novels and the odd ad on my own small farm w/ yurt (sans mortgauge.) It’ll take around 3 years. Much better than 40 for a house in the burbs.

In this day and age, strange as it sounds, you have to work hard to be a slacker!

I managed only a few posts during that time. What we lacked in wifi in the open ocean we made up with dolphins swimming alongside the boat in the dark of night lit up with bioluminescence. Very trippy.
