It may sound glamourous but in my experience the majority of your time is spent sitting in front of a computer. When you are travelling it's not exactly relaxing as you're trying to take in as much as possible, although I'm not nearly as famous as you Leif to be invited to dinner by the mayor and top ranking tourism officials. We're not looking for sympathy from readers just as understanding of what our job entails. Hilarious post but it is true about travel writers not being in it for the money. I love how the way you write makes everything come to life in my mind, even the really weird and slightly awkward things. And I almost laughed out loud when I read about the chicken pot pie.
