Not even close? Perhaps. But we haven't met yet.

Myself, during the final "hectic copy chop" period of a book I sleep naked with all collected notes and travel brochures. Gives me something to grab onto when I wake in a cold sweat from dreams involving endless business cards, restaurant menus and bus schedules. How do I Felix this?

Then I burn them, but not until after the manuscript's been delivered and AQs are all over with. Am I the only one?

Your blog is fun, Leif. I wish I'd have been able to show up in SF, but I was delayed in Belize. Every sand-fly from Punta Gorda to Corozal wanted blood. But next time...

Cheerfully yours,

Joshua Samuel Brown
Currently in last throes of copy-chop, Belize 3
Co-author of the very fun Taiwan 7
Soon to be heading out for Singapore 8 (Pending)

Be a sport and leave a comment on my blog! BTW, does Bobby McFerrin still have that swell house in Minneapolis?

Siri! - Long time no Bangalore love! Have you just been hiding out to avoid paying the new KB Fan Club association dues I instituted last summer? Is US$2,495 a month really all that much? In all seriousness, you'd be surprised how little sense of competition there is between LP authors. For the most part I respect these people so much that if I pitch for the same job and lose, it's probably for the undeniable fact that they were better qualified for the job. You just can't argue that. They've gotta pick the person that will write the best book, plain and simple.

Lucas – Where were you? Out learning new languages and flirting with girls in countries that Americans can still afford to visit?
