Scott - Thanks for the heads up. There was a time when I knew all that information, but the measly 12mb (yes, millibits) available memory in my brain was cleared of that knowledge for phrases like 'how much for a double room?' in three languages. Dutifully fixed.

Trolling your excellent archives and you had me going with the techie bit on this one. Then you complained about the measly 12mb memory. That would be 12 millibits of memory, or about 1/83 of a single bit. Made me stop to think how such a memory could be used. In fuzzy logic, perhaps. And SI unit symbols (e.g. "MB") should be separated from the number by a single space (e.g. "12 MB"). The way to think of it is that the symbol is a replacement for the word (but no plural). You would never write "12megabytes".

Fix that tiny blemish and even the hard core techies will bow in your general direction, wherever that might be these days. But make even these tiny mistakes and you risk being seen as just another high-tech trash talker. And you're too good for that.

Sorry about wrong blog address, correct one is http://www.neopoleon.com

Elfin was kind; imagine my mental earache: what I heard you singing was a mishmash of I'm Too Sexy and Bringing Sexy Back. Trashing the IPhone? FSJ will be coming after you.

Sheila – You're right. I don’t get it. It reads like I'm walking through a room, hearing clips of conversation at a Schizophrenia Convention. Besides, if I'm ever going to break the One Post a Week Barrier, I don't need any other distractions. I bow to your greatness in technology and fast-twitch blogging.

Anne Marie – I hear you. That bait and switch popularity hurts the ego. They're talking, smiling, you assume you're a dealing with one of your many, many fans, so you get out your pen for an autograph and… denied.

Elfin – I forgot all about that song. I'm gonna make it into a ringtone right now.

Lucas – The iPhone is already too passé. No character. A girl that sees the Curve and recognizes the owner's wisdom and exquisite taste… that girl is a keeper.

It sounds like you've simply never tried an iPhone-- hands down the sexiest piece of geekware that money can buy. If the specs and multitouch don't convince you, try walking up to a girl and saying "Hi. Wanna see my iphone". No girl ever says no.

Oh and I dare you to tell me the startdate a primary cast member used a bluetooth-esque headset on TNG! Maybe you're thinking of uhura's headset in the original series, or possibly a jedi communicator out of revenge of the sith.

I lean towards skipping the headset. Strangers who approach you in public, making eye contact, smiling and talking, and who then turn out to be speaking into those things, give me a pain.
